Message from Brett Fulkerson
Elder Law and Estate Planning Attorney
Estate planning and elder law are not just areas of practice — they are the work I have dedicated over 20 years of my career to, because I know firsthand how much the right guidance matters when families face life’s most important decisions.
I opened my own law firm in 2005 with an initial focus on estate planning. I expanded my practice by adding elder law over 15 years ago after my own father went into a nursing home. I know what it’s like to deal with a loved one dealing with dementia. I know what it’s like to fear the costs of long-term care. I know what it’s like when a nursing home becomes the only option left for your loved one.
Designing estate plans, special needs plans and long-term care plans is not about creating and selling documents. It’s about getting to know you and your family, your family dynamics, your concerns and your goals. We then work together to determine what strategies will best meet your goals and needs.
The greatest thing I can offer a client is peace of mind: peace of mind knowing they have a well-designed estate plan that protects a surviving spouse, minor and adult children, or a family business; peace of mind knowing they have put in place proper planning for a child with special needs; or peace of mind knowing they have prepared for when they or a spouse or a parent need nursing home care. Peace of mind comes through knowing you’ve done what you can to protect yourself, your spouse and your family.
Clients regularly express the relief and peace of mind they experience when we complete an estate plan, a special needs plan or a long-term care asset protection plan.
